The Manor House

The Manor House

The main house was built between 1840 and 1850 by William Dougherty, a lawyer from Athens, Georgia, who bought land in McLemore Cove in the 1832 land lottery.  The house has undergone renovations over the years, the major one being in the 1970’s by Wayne Rollins, who added the annex that now houses the Manor House Restaurant.  The front entrance to the home, with its wide steps and majestic pillars, is a popular setting for weddings.  The restored interior with caterers’ kitchen can be rented for dinners, business meetings with breakout rooms and media center, indoor weddings complete with dressing rooms, and other events limited only by your imagination.
